La familia Carter ocupa un lugar fundamental en la historia de la música estadounidense -Nacieron en el suroeste de Virginia, en la región de los Apalaches. Influenciados por melodías tradicionales, gospel y el canto de notas de forma, una técnica de notación musical simplificada. Comenzaron a grabar en los años 1920, en los primeros días de la música country comercial. – Grabaron más de 300 canciones entre 1927 y 1943, incluyendo baladas, piezas religiosas y canciones humorísticas. Su estilo influyó profundamente en géneros como el country, bluegrass, gospel sureño, pop y rock.Son considerados la “Primera Familia de la Música Country” por su enorme influencia en el género. – En los años 40, surgió una segunda generación musical con las hijas de Maybelle ( Por cierto famosa por su estilo innovador de guitarra llamado Carter Scratch ) : June, Helen y Anita Carter, conocidas como The Carter Sisters Canciones icónicas: “Wildwood Flower”, “Keep on the Sunny Side”, “Can the Circle Be Unbroken”. –
